|Information||What makes this 200-hour YTT unique?
This is a yoga of stillness, of going inward and really sensing what’s happening in your body, on all levels, not just physically, but also emotionally, mentally, spiritually. This hatha yoga is not what it looks like from the outside, but how it feels from the inside. Participants are invited to explore their own yoga path, to grow personally and learn to guide others from a heart-centred approach. We will learn yoga postures step by step, one by one, and how to lead a slow and steady yoga class with confidence and compassion, including all other elements such as centering, breathing, meditation & relaxation and modifications & assists for limited bodies.
This 200-hour training will take place over 9 weekends spread over two locations and finish with a 5 or 7-day long retreat (depending on storm days). See below for dates.
Location for first 4 weekends is Tusket House near Yarmouth. This is the home and yoga centre of Kerry Lawson & Kabir Rana. If needed they are pleased to host participants from away (in shared accommodations) for $25 per night which includes breakfast and $5 each for other meals. Or participants can bring their own food and⁄or find other accommodations on your own.
Location for last 5 weekends is Granville Ferry Community Hall (near Annapolis Royal), home yoga centre of Julie Palmer. Participants from away will book their own accommodations & provide their own food. Efforts to find billeting will be made if necessary.
Location for 5 to 7-day long retreat will be Tusket House. Accommodations & Meals for retreat are included in your registration fees.
Weekends will be Sat 9 to 5 pm, Sat 7 to 9 pm and Sun 9 to 5 pm with the following schedule:

3. Nov 21 & 22
4. Dec 12 & 13
5. Jan 9 & 10
6. March 19 & 20
7. April 9 & 10
8. May 7 & 8
9. June 4 & 5 and
10. June 25- July 1 (weeklong residential immersion at Tusket House)
To receive the 200-hour certificate, participants must attend the full training. Any missed hours will have to be made up by attending a similar workshop or with homework & assignments covering the missed topics.
