Public Bulletin The Colchester-East Hants branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association will soon have a lot more space.
The CMHA plans to renovate the former Bargain Shop building, at 859 Prince Street. Costs are expected to total $1.5 million and a fundraising campaign will be launched during the first week of May.
“One of our biggest challenges right now is trying to juggle our small work area,” said Susan Henderson, executive director. “The new building will be bright and spacious, We’ll be able to accommodate our current programs and more.”
The CMHA is currently located on the corner of Revere and Prince Streets, and will temporarily move across the street (574 Prince) until the new spot is ready. SOUP Café, which is run by the local branch of the CMHA, will remain at its 563 Prince Street location for the time being.

Description & Services
Information This was the 4th year for Bowls for Balance. For the event Thrown Together Pottery, their students and local potters donate their hand-made-one-of-a-kind bowls to Canadian Mental Health association to sell in their fundraiser. On certain dates and times, the Bowls donated go on display for purchase, each bowl is around $25.00 and includes your menu item of choice as well as a hot beverage (coffee, tea hot chocolate). There are usually no pre-sales even though the bowls are displayed before the event. This event is filled with functional art and great food to go with it. Thank you to Thrown Together Pottery, their students and many other potters in Nova Scotia for making this event possible each year.
