Description & Services
Information | The Francophone Community Centre offers educational, social and cultural activities in French for the French-speaking community, and provides a forum for the community to gather and exchange ideas. They contribute to the larger community and to the region by creating more opportunities for all ages to participate in Acadian and Francophone culture. The centres welcome newcomers to the area, and are pleased to help people get established in their new community. Since the Francophone community in and around Truro is made up of people from many ethic origins, the multicultural aspect of the Centre is central to the activities and identity. The CCFT features a spacious room dedicated to cultural and social activities called “La Boite Noire” (The Black Box). This room is equipped with a very large movie screen, a video-projector, and all the necessary equipment to host successful public shows, such as live music, theater play, and movies. Its accommodation capacity is 347 standing people, 140 chairs OR 110 tables & chairs. We have a "mezzanine" area upstairs that holds 174 standing, 70 chairs or 55 tables & chairs. |
