Information | ![]() Kids Run Club is a free school-based running program designed to give children and youth an opportunity to be active through running. This award-winning program has been partnering with more than 200 NS schools since 2004 to help more than 16,000 kids embrace active, healthy living. The majority of Kids Run Clubs are in elementary schools but the program can be adapted for all ages, abilities, fitness levels and group sizes. The goal of Kids Run Club is to give children and youth a chance to be active and learn about healthy lifestyles. Kids Run Club keeps the fun in running by teaching participants about proper technique and pacing, and how to balance the challenge of running with taking breaks so that all experience success. Kids Run Club can be implemented as an extra-curricular program or within curriculum/class-time. ![]() Leadership: Kids Run Club coaches include teachers, other school staff, parents, community leaders and youth leaders. Expertise in running is not a pre-requisite, but enthusiasm and a passion for active living are. The kids in this program need a champion – someone to make sure they are safe and having fun! If you’re a teacher looking to expand your curriculum, Kids Run Club is just what you need! If you’re a parent interested in becoming more involved in your kid’s school, Kids Run Club is the opportunity you’ve been searching for! Check out www.kidsrunclub.ca to learn more about the program, register your school/group or connect with our team to explore the possibility of joining the Club! A special version of Kids Run Club is available for junior and senior high schools that includes tools for creating a welcoming and safe program, suitable for all students, regardless of their gender-identity or expression.
