Some of the woodland portion is within the boundaries of Blue Mountain-Birch Cove Lakes Wilderness Area. A short side trail to the right leads to Ash Lake. From the woods road, crossing 2 rough bridges, hikers will be challenged by the steady climb from the North base of Blue Mountain Hill to the summit, crossing what could become the Highway 113 corridor. Can be wet after heavy rains. At the summit you will find a cache of stones and an unlimited view from the highest point in Halifax Regional Municipality.
