Information | Luneburg County Bike Week ! Women’s Bike Ride: Literally a Sweet Ride Meet at Sweet Ride Cycling for this is rail or trail ride, approximately 20km. Enjoy a stop for a sweet treat and everyone also gets a 10% off coupon for Sweet Ride Cycling. Register with Sweet Ride Cycling by email: info@sweetridecycling.com Ride sponsored & organized by Sweet Ride Cycling. Saturday, September 26, 9:00am Meet at Sweet Ride Cycling, Mahone Bay It’s FREE! Pre-registration is required, space is limited Ride to Devil’s Hook Falls Enjoy a scenic ride along a rural dirt road through Christmas tree lots to an iron bridge with a beautiful waterfall. May also visit an old gold mine site. Approximately 20km ride. Expected return time 4:00pm. Expect some rough gravel road conditions with potential wet spots. Gentle elevations. Bring water and snack. Helmets required. Led by Janice Rand & Karen Geddes-Selig . Sunday, September 20, 2:00pm Meet at the Barss Corner Community Hall, 891 Barss Corner Road It’s FREE! Pre-registration is required, space is limited Centennial Trail/LaHave River Trail Ride A scenic ride along the LaHave River and rural roads, estimated 18km in total. Mountain bike or hybrid bikes recommended. Helmets required. We will start on the Centennial Trail in Bridgewater and work our way along the LaHave River Trail to the Turkey Burger on route 10. On our way back we will ride along the Dauphinee Road (may have some rough spots) and Pinegrove Road. Expected return time 11:30am. Bring water and a snack. Led by Janice Rand & Karen Geddes-Selig. Wednesday, September 30, 10:00am Meet in the parking lot at the bottom of Silver’s Hill, LaHave Street, Bridgewater It’s FREE! Pre-registration is required, space is limited Women on Wheels (WoW) Bicycle Nova Scotia WoW program was expanded to include women of all ages! Now women of all ages who want to improve their cycling skills, become more confident cycling on roads, or are returning to cycling after a hiatus are welcome. The group meets weekly on Monday mornings (Spring, Summer and Fall) at various locations. If you would like to join us, please contact the Active Living Coordinator at Karen.Geddes-Selig@modl.ca. Pre-registration is required, space is limited Bicycle Scavenger Hunt A great opportunity for families to ride the trails together, on your own time, to find up to six colorful pinecones hanging in the trees at River Ridge Common. Send District of Lunenburg Recreation a picture of your family biking along the trail to be entered to win gift certificates!
