| Information | The Chester Art Centre was founded in April 2007 by artists and art lovers with a desire to bring art to the community. The Centre is located in the picturesque seaside village of Chester, Nova Scotia. Our vision is to create unimaginative, dynamic and more vibrant community. The Centre offers a varied and experiential range of classes and workshops for children and adults in a classic Chester cottage, which features a main floor exhibition/classroom space and a back yard that is terrific for picnics. Every summer the Centre showcases artists in the region with a featured exhibition and a Kids Make Art Day for all ages. We believe strongly in community cooperation and collaboration and have successfully partnered with the Recreation Department of the Municipality of Chester, the Chester Merchants Association, the Chester Municipal Heritage Society, and have co-ventured on programs with the Chester Playhouse and the Schools in our community. We finance the Art Centre and our educational efforts through art classes, lectures, and the generous contributions of supporters, sponsors and various government programs.
