| Information | Surf lessons are available every weekend, Saturday and Sunday from July 5/6 to August 16/17 between 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. Weekday lessons Monday - Friday available July 21 - August 29 between 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. Lessons include 20 minute safety talk on land and 1 hour water lesson in surf. For ages 8 years and up. Each student will have use of a full wetsuit, booties and surfboard for class time. Instructor Michelle Richards and assistant will teach the basics in learning to surf. This includes board familiarity, knowledge of ocean conditions, water safety, etiquette, how to paddle out into waves and be able to catch and ride the surf. Advanced surfers participate in competition training and surfboards tricks and manoeuvres. Register by calling Michelle at 345-0741 or 227-1230 or just arrive at Point Michaud Beach to the surf tent during class time. Fee: $25.00 for 1 lesson and $60.00 for 4 lessons during class time. Fee includes surfboard, wetsuit, booties and instruction. Also includes free registration to the 5th annual Point Michaud Surf Classic on August 16 & 17. Equipment rental fee for persons not attending a class: $5.00 an hour for surfboard, $5.00 an hour for wetsuit. Classes cancelled on days of extreme weather; strong winds, heavy rainfall and /or lightening. |
