Description & Services

Information Kings District RCMP invite youth in Grades 9, 10 and 11 to apply to become part of its volunteer Youth Advisory Committee.

The Youth Advisory Committee works closely with RCMP members to discuss issues related to youth crime and victimization, with a goal of developing initiatives that have a positive impact on youth in Kings County.

Input from the Youth Advisory Committee is an important way for RCMP members to learn more about the views of youth and the issues they're facing in the community.

As a Youth Advisory Committee member, you'll have a leadership role as part of a team that will:
- Hold regular meetings at Kings County high schools
- Develop a strategic plan
- Identify issues facing youth
- Develop working initiatives
- Help plan and attend special events.

Youth Advisory Committee members will sit on the committee for at least one year, and will attend meetings approximately two hours long on a bi-monthly basis.

RCMP will provide transportation and will arrange meetings to accommodate school schedules.

For more information, download the Youth Advisory Committee information page and application forms, or contact Constable Jeff Wilson at jeff.wilson@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
