Description & Services

Information
Although an interdenominational chaplaincy is at the heart of our work, we daily help meet the immediate needs of those who find themselves in the unfortunate situation of being on the street, hungry, or lonely with:
- Emergency Shelter / Permanent Housing
- Food / Clothing / Furniture
- Health and Social services
- Assessments and Training
- Employment Assistance

Open Arms began to serve people in immediate crises here in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley in 2004.

We are in our third year coordinating the seasonal (November 1st – April 30th) 'Inn From The Cold' program.

This emergency shelter program has been host to an average of 2 individuals per night the 70% of the nights shelter is required.

Over 140 volunteers, mostly from local churches, make the Inn From The Cold program possible.

We Need You!

Open Arms is looking for individuals to help out with the Inn From the Cold program, and the Drop-In Centre.
