With a focus on realistic, "live" training in a fun and safe environment, Abhaya is changing the way people think of martial arts. Gone are the unrealistic techniques and rigid stances of the traditional martial arts. We teach only those techniques and training methods proven to be effective by professional fighters around the world. By combining classes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Muay Thai Kickboxing and MMA, we offer a complete solution for real-world physical confrontations. We pride ourselves on having a relaxed training atmosphere where everyone can progress at their own pace while still being challenged in every single class.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: No Martial Arts experience whatsoever? No problem. This is the class for you. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the world’s most effective single martial arts style and utilizes technical body positioning and leverage to subdue an opponent. It features a short callisthenic warm-up followed by movement drills that train your body to perform the techniques. At least half of the class consists of technical instruction in the fundamental holds, escapes, chokes and armbars that have made B.J.J. practitioners so successful in competitions around the world.
No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: This is the same as BJJ but without the gi and with more emphisis on the ground game for MMA. Training is done in shorts and a t-shirt or rashguard.
Judo: A martial art that perfectly compliments your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Judo's most prominent feature is its competitive element, where the object is to either throw or takedown one's opponent to the ground. Once on the ground Judo implements techniques similar to BJJ to immobilize or otherwise subdue one's opponent with a grappling maneuver, or force an opponent to submit by joint locking or by executing a strangle hold or choke.
Intro Muay Thai Kickboxing: This is a great workout that features detailed instruction in the basics of punching, kicking, blocking and proper footwork. You will learn how to use training equipment like heavy bags and focus mitts and build core strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. An hour of kickboxing will burn between 600 and 900 calories! This program is designed for people with no previous training and there is no contact sparring in the classes.
Intermediate Muay Thai: This class is a step up from our beginner Kickboxing class with more focus on advanced techniques and live sparring. This program is designed for people with some previous kickboxing experience.
Mixed Martial Arts: This is our most intense class and not for the faint of heart. Experienced club members can get permission to attend by speaking with one of our trainers. It features a combination of intense conditioning drills and live contact sparring both on the feet and on the ground. Do you want to be a fighter?
