Information This is a multi purpose centre to accommodate sporting, recreational, cultural, tourism and business activities  
The Community Centre has an arena with an NHL sized ice surface and seating capacity of 800. There are five dressing rooms, a room for officials, lobby, storage facilities, canteen with kitchen, coatroom, meeting/boardroom, walking track, 3,100 square foot common room, and a Teen Centre 
 
The Dr. Carson & Marion Murray Community Centre is... 
- A multi purpose, state of the art facility accommodating sporting, recreational, cultural, tourism and business activities 
- Unique in design and operation as it uses geothermal energy from the former Springhill Mines to heat and cool the building 
- The largest sporting facility in Atlantic Canada to operate on this power source 
- An environmentally friendly facility reducing greenhouse gas emissions 
- Reducing the cost of the needed energy supply by 50 % by tapping into the geothermal energy supply 
- Recognized by the Community Building Incentive Program of Natural Resources Canada as an energy efficient building 
 
The Community Centre is completely wheelchair accessible and has ample FREE parking available!
Eligibility The Community Centre Walking Track 
 
Walking Track RULES 
 
Open daily 8:30am – 9pm 
5 Laps = 1 Kilometer 
8 Laps = 1 Mile 
Rubberized surface 
Running & Jogging PERMITTED AT ALL TIMES 
Walkers are asked to follow the flow of traffic 
No Food or Drinks (with the exception of water) on the track 
Children Under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult 
Walking Track will be closed during Junior Hockey games, Hockey Tournaments and Special Events 
Please Be Respectful Of All Walkers!!!
