Description & Services

Information MacElmons Pond Provincial Park is small picnic park beside a pond and wildlife management area. The rich waters of the headpond support a small population of American widgeon as well as being an important staging area for migratory waterfowl. A trail meanders through old fields, pine forest and alongside the pond. Access the trail at the edge of the forest at the picnic area. Fishing is permitted (with permit). There are vault toilets at this park. Trail length: 1.5 km loop Permitted trail use: hiking Trail surface: dirt path, boardwalks Difficulty rating: "easy" Directions to the park:
  • Travel on Highway 104, take Exit 13 and travel south onto MacElmon Road.
  • Or from Route 2 in Lower Onslow, turn north onto MacElmon Road; continue 1 km to park entrance.
