Description & Services
Information | Theatre Antigonish is a non-profit, community theatre under the supervision of professional staff that has been thriving with community support since 1974. It is based in the Bauer Theatre building on the StFX University campus. Productions typically occur during the fall and spring terms and feature university and high school students and residents of the local community. Occasionally guest artists are invited to act in or direct its productions. Occasionally, Theatre Antigonish employs other professional guest artists in key positions. Everyone in the Antigonish area is eligible to volunteer their services or audition for roles in the productions. The aim of Theatre Antigonish is to involve faculty, students, staff and residents of the area in a variety of productions during the winter months, either as participants or as members of the audience. Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to participate and help maintain theatre as a vibrant part of our community. Theatre Antigonish volunteers work alongside theatre professionals, acquiring skills that enrich their lives. For those who prefer to work behind the scenes, stage management, publicity, ushering, and costume departments are key areas where volunteers are always needed. |
