Description & Services
Information | The property includes a heritage home (converted to a restaurant), an interpretive centre, and an outdoor stage. The tearoom is host to traditional Acadian lunches each Friday during the summer months (July and August) and two Lobster Roll Dinners in August and September. The Interpretive Centre outlines the history of Pomquet from its geological origins, to its ecology and its first inhabitants (the Mi'kmaq), to its settlement by Acadians and its evolution as a community. The outdoor stage, attached to the Interpretive Centre, provides a venue for local entertainment. The trailhead for the Pomquet Acadian Trails is located on site. The trail system is a 6 km stacked loop coastal trail with commanding views of George's Bay and Cape Breton Island. |
Eligibility | Ages: 4 year(s) and up |
Hours | The Chez Deslauriers restaurant and Interpretive Centre are open from 11 AM to 2 PM each Friday during the months of July and August. The Pomquet Acadian Trails are open year-round. |
